Sun spots? Use sunblock!

During my initial checkup with my dermatologist, two of my questions where what the two tiny brownish spots right on my cheekbones are and how I could get rid of them. Apparently, I devastatingly found out that those were age spots (sometimes called sun spots or lentigines).
The culprit? As the name implies - Sun. Those brownish spots which, over time, appear on your face and body, is actually a result of overexposure to the sun.
Age spots, are actually common and generally appear as we age. This is because as we age our skin is subjected to more and more sun damage; at the same time our skin’s natural ability to fend off UV rays from the sun begins to deteriorate. These age spots can be effectively treated with lasers. However, my dermatologist recommended that I just use an SPF 45 facial sunblock since the two brownish spots can easily be concealed and is not that visible. Thank God! Laser treatments can be pretty expensive, not to mention daunting at times.
So for those who don’t want to acquire sun spots over time, wear sunblock.
