My own time

Written on Tuesday, 27 of December, 2011 at 2:40 am

Since I recently started my yoga sessions again, I have been waking up at 4 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can do yoga before I work. Frankly, it has been really tiring. I lack sleep and I really have a hard time letting go of my bed so I tend to be really cranky on yoga days.

I have been seriously considering buying yoga dvds so I can choose to do it in my own time instead of adhering to the schedule in the yoga studio. I can set schedules on weekend mornings when the yoga studio I go to is closed instead and I can do it wearing my birthday suit! Haha, just kidding. Well this way I won’t have to worry about people judging me for what I wear to yoga. This way I’d be less conscious of my surroundings or how I look like because there’s a cute guy beside me and I don’t want to look ridiculous! Haha.

If I do get a DVD I can skip a few sessions on the studio if I want to sleep and just do a session at home! Cool huh?

The joke is on them

Written on Monday, 26 of December, 2011 at 11:33 pm

Sometimes the only way to teach some guys a lesson is to give them a taste of their own medicine. These past few weeks, practical jokes have been “in” in the office. Ever since my supervisor started it, everyone had their own pranks. I have never been fond of pranks, or any jokes that make other people look stupid.

Yesterday I just had enough of it. When they placed some gooey stuff in my keyboard, I became so angry I promised myself I would definitely retaliate. But of course, revenge is sweeter when no one figures out you did it.

So I devised a diabolic plan of looking into their weaknesses. Voila! They were married individuals with some seriously insecure wives. So I went on with my plan. First I created their full profiles in some adult online dating sites. I placed there their full pictures and all, along with some office secret pictures like the one we had in Hooters.

Then, I also created some bogus accounts of women and created some scripted conversation with their fake accounts. To look like they were dating. After that, I emailed their spouses a screenshot and a link to the site. Oh it was diabolical. Earlier, one of the guys went to work looking very stressed out. I heard he had a fight with her wife. Oh I hope I could get the credits for that unfortunately I must resist the temptation to continue with my next plans. Of course, the plan is to send out an anonymous email saying that all of it was part of a prank. But that is for next week.

The Miracle Fruit

Written on Tuesday, 20 of December, 2011 at 11:33 am

A Filipino friend of mine gave me a visit last week and brought me an interesting gift – a Miracle Fruit. Actually it was a small plant with two or three fruits. What’s so interesting about this? Well after eating the fruit, every sour thing you taste after will taste sweet. I tried eating a ripe lemon and it tasted so sweet. I was so amazed with her gift that I immediately planted it in my garden, thinking that it would bear more fruit.

Unfortunately, the plant died. I had no idea why so I did some research on the net. Turns out that Miracle Fruit only grow on soil with 6.8 to 7 ph. This means that the soil must be ph balanced in order for the plant to live. I bought a ph meter from a gardening store to check out my soil and it turns out that it was PH 5. The soil killed my plant, or at least my plant was not able to live in my garden soil.

I told my friend about this and she told me not to worry. She will bring another Miracle Fruit plant when she visits me again in summer.

Gemmed!

Written on Sunday, 18 of December, 2011 at 5:06 pm

My friends believe that there are certain energies within gemstone beads that store a part of the world’s history, and has its own way of telling you what the world has been through. If you don’t take care of them well you’ll end up losing them.

I’ve been really exposed to a lot of things that I never even knew were possible lately through the help of my friends, and I doubted them at first, but what they’ve been saying made a lot of sense. Haha. Am I weirding you out yet? I’m sorry. Okay, back to the original topic! Gemstones!

There is just something about these beads that have a timeless effect. It’s like they never go out of style and they’re so easy to wear with various kinds of outfits. I don’t know if this is just a phase, but most of my accessories are full of gemstones. Haha. What kind of accessories do you wear these days? Share it with us, and if possible with pictures, too!

Bath tub broken!

Written on Monday, 5 of December, 2011 at 3:06 am

Our bath tub’s shower hose got broken recently, and I don’t even have any idea how that is humanely possible, but hey, there’s nothing we can do about that anymore.

My mom wanted the hose fixed, so she had it repaired, but it doesn’t really look very pleasing anymore. Do you guys know of any good brands with a flexible metal hose? I don’t want to buy a new hose that will end up the same way as our default one. Apparently my mom isn’t very good at judging the quality of things like these, and knowing me, I don’t even have any experience in the house appliance/furniture department, so I wouldn’t even trust myself to shop for things like this. What do you think?

Please, help us by sharing good brands or shops for this. THE FUTURE OF OUR HYGIENE DEPENDS ON YOUR RESPONSE! Hahaha, kidding, but you get the point!

Weather friendly bags

Written on Saturday, 3 of December, 2011 at 3:06 pm

Since in our country, the only apparent season that exists would be the rainy season, it’s logical for me to find leather shoes that I can buy because if there’s one thing I hate the most– it’s when my feet get wet.

Apparently my feet shouldn’t be the only things that I should be worried about. While I was happily wading around under the rain because I wore comfy leather shoes, I wasn’t aware of the fact that the papers inside my bag got drenched because the bag was made of cotton.

So yes, now I’m looking for decent leather backpacks that I can use. I don’t think I’m ever going back to cotton bags again, after all of the things that event put me through. It was hell trying to gather all of the readings from my courses and copying notes from my classmates for an entire week.

Never again, I tell you.

Free music from youtube!

Written on Wednesday, 23 of November, 2011 at 7:56 am

Here is a quick and easy way to get some free music: Download it from Youtube!
I love music and I love filling up my Itouch with a lot of it. However, most of the times, I do not want to buy music because if I do that I would not have anything left in my budget. Imagine buying 32 gig of songs, see how long you’ll last.
Anyhow, a friend suggested YouTube to MP3 downloader, a program that allows you to download just the MP3 in the video.

I used to do this by downloading the whole video then converting it down to audio only. Fortunately, this solution is much simpler.

Some of you guys may not agree with me, telling me that MP3′s sold in itunes still have better quality. Yes that is true. However, if you are not an audiophile you would not recognize the difference of a 192 kbps to a 128 kbps bit rate of an MP3. But you will have to agree that youtube already has quality audio. Good enough for the masses.

Mom’s Present

Written on Monday, 7 of November, 2011 at 2:31 am

Since it’s the christmas season, I’ve began to worry about what presents I should get for certain people in my life.

I have had most of them figured out, but one of the things I haven’t settled for yet would be possible christmas gifts for mom. I already got her a wallet for her birthday (which I’m happy to see that she uses everyday), and that’s the only thing I put on the list I made whenever I notice that people need or want certain things…

I’d get her shoes, but she has these specific types of shoes that she can’t wear. She has wide toes, so I don’t think getting her just any shoe would work. I don’t want to give her gift certificates either. I want to give her something with a personal touch, something she knows I’ve thought of so hard to get / achieve / give to her. I’m really running out of ideas, though.

Do you have any suggestions? What kind of presents are you getting your parents this year?

Oh, Brother!

Written on Saturday, 5 of November, 2011 at 2:26 pm

I just recently found out that my brother will become a doctor soon. If that actually happens that means he will be getting his fourth degree. Dude, I mean, fourth degree, really? How does one person become a fan of studying something so much to reach four degrees in that field? I know my attention span can’t handle it. My brother just earned even more respect from me. Seriously.

I want to get him something special as a form of congratulating him on his well deserved degrees. He has always been fond of pretty watches and he spends about a third of his salary to buy new watches, so I decided on buying him one of those michael kors watches. I still haven’t decided on which one to buy yet though.

Do you guys have any specific idea on which one I should get for him? So far all I’ve narrowed down from his owned watches would be that most of them are black, and I don’t really think that’s much to go by. Haha! A little help, please?

Roomie Troubles

Written on Friday, 4 of November, 2011 at 1:28 am

I went to visit my sister’s apartment in her university because she confessed that she was having issues with her roommate, and that her roommate has been seriously hard to get along with, not to mention stressful in a way that she couldn’t concentrate on her studies anymore. While I went in there and the apartment was empty, I could not help but notice how there were cords and cables EVERYWHERE.

It was an eyesore and I couldn’t help but cringe whenever I stepped on something for fear of tripping and losing a tooth if I ever fall flat on my face. I definitely need to get my sister one of those cord covers. Knowing her, she actually might fall flat on her face with a bigger chance than me.

It’s quite hard to get along with people, but there are some who just don’t know where and how to react politely and be civil. That’s the problem with her roommate, and if my sister trying to talk to her didn’t work out, I am obliged to step in and kick her out.
