on chocolates and nostalgia

At the grocery store, I was amazed to see a huge pack of Daim in the chocolate section. Daim is a crunchy Swedish chocolate specialty, and the first and last time I was able to savor it was in high school.
That chocolate was really memorable for me because it wasn’t only luscious; it was also given to me by Angelica, one of my closest friends. She bought it sometime in 2000 when she went to Stockholm, Sweden with her family. I loved Daim so much that Angelica promised that next time they visit Stockholm she’ll buy me three huge packs of it.
Unfortunately, her family hadn’t gone back to Sweden, and I lost communication with her when we went to different universities. I wonder how she is now… I’ll give her a ring later and find out. Funny how a piece of chocolate can conjure nostalgia.
