family bonding

My cousin Lalaine got married at the age of 18. Mom showed her disapproval to this, by not attending the wedding ceremony. Prior to the wedding, Mom even advised her brother, the father of Lalaine to possibly postpone the wedding until the would-be couple will be old enough to understand the big responsibility of forming a family. Mom also emphasized that nowadays, “marriage seems to be like a madhouse”, where the young ones are rushing to get married, while the older ones/the married couple would like to get out of marriage through separation or divorce. Nonetheless, the wedding was pushed through. For several months, there was no communication with my Mom and her brother.

Recently, a miracle changed the heart of my Mom. She and my aunts received one of a kind baby shower invitations from Lalaine announcing she is about to give birth to a healthy baby boy. Truly, this news regarding the birth of an additional member in the family is something to celebrate. This occasion had been the turning point to break the silence between brother and sister and to renew the family bonding.
