Oh, Brother!

Written on Saturday, 5 of November, 2011 at 2:26 pm

I just recently found out that my brother will become a doctor soon. If that actually happens that means he will be getting his fourth degree. Dude, I mean, fourth degree, really? How does one person become a fan of studying something so much to reach four degrees in that field? I know my attention span can’t handle it. My brother just earned even more respect from me. Seriously.

I want to get him something special as a form of congratulating him on his well deserved degrees. He has always been fond of pretty watches and he spends about a third of his salary to buy new watches, so I decided on buying him one of those michael kors watches. I still haven’t decided on which one to buy yet though.

Do you guys have any specific idea on which one I should get for him? So far all I’ve narrowed down from his owned watches would be that most of them are black, and I don’t really think that’s much to go by. Haha! A little help, please?

The Pros of Playing Games

Written on Sunday, 3 of July, 2011 at 11:39 pm

Have you ever heard of massive multiplayer online role playing games?

I have. I was once addicted to these types of games. The specific game that I spent about ten years of my life playing was Ragnarok. I didn’t play just for the sake of leveling up and getting a lot of gold. I played because I liked the thought of interacting with other people from across the globe, getting to know them and being able to do something with them.
At one point I played too much that I mistook Gold for Cash. My parents began to worry. At first they thought it was just a phase, but I started to ignore the rest of the world and I opted to stay in the house instead of socializing with my friends like any other normal girl would do.
Thanks to that game, I started earning a lot of money and I improved my programming skills. You see, games aren’t too bad if you learn to control yourself.

Home Systems — I want one!

Written on Wednesday, 15 of June, 2011 at 11:07 pm

My brother recently bought a new home system so he could watch movies in high definition and surround sound, and it made me a little jealous.

He gave his old sound system for us to use in the living room, but for me it simply isn’t enough. I blame man’s natural instinct of never being content! Haha! Just kidding, but really, I think that what our sound system needs would be Energy speakers for bookshelf.

With that I could watch all the Lord of the Rings movies, and then follow that marathon with a Harry Potter movie marathon. I’d invite all my friends to enjoy the awesomeness that is the surround sound and the magnificent television screen.

Apple Obsession

Written on Saturday, 12 of February, 2011 at 11:57 pm

It seems like wherever I go, all I see are people listening to their ipods, playing games and not minding each other.

I find it scary. We might even reach a point where we end up ignoring each other and just minding our own business, using apps and all that.

But that’s probably just me being paranoid. I’d be a hypocrite if I said I hate ipods and we shouldn’t ever use them, because I pretty much can’t live without mine! It has pretty much consumed my life, and I am entirely dependent on it now. Haha!

Most of my schedules are there, and I have a lot of to do lists stored on it. It’s just convenient since it’s portable and you can do a lot of things with it, not to mention the very reasonable price and sleek interface!

Signs

Written on Saturday, 29 of January, 2011 at 11:15 pm

I have always had this weird interest for signs. I used to take photos with my little film camera a lot when I was about thirteen. osha signs piqued my interest when I was little. I used to stare at them and ask my mom what they meant.

I even dreamt of being an OSHA sign maker once, I’d make signs just for the fun of it and show my parents. They used to call me the “little sign girl”. My parents were proud of me for being such a curious little girl who always asked questions. They highly encouraged it, so most of my siblings found me annoying. Hahaha!

Fatherly Love

Written on Sunday, 2 of January, 2011 at 3:08 am

My brother used to play golf with my dad a lot. My dad started taking my brother with him since he was about six and he made my brother watch while he swung his golf club.

This intrigued my brother and it piqued his interest in the matter. He started practicing with my dad and all the other men in the club started noticing how my brother has potential.

My dad trained with him vigorously and took him to small competitions. From then on golf trophies started coming and my dad took every single one of them and put them in our living room.

I like looking at my brother’s trophies. For me it’s a symbol of fatherly love and pride.

Clumsy Me

Written on Saturday, 14 of August, 2010 at 9:32 pm

As a kid, I’ve always had this slight intimidation with wheels.

I couldn’t ride anything that had less than three wheels on it even if my life depended on it.

My brother had these power wheels when he was young, and I used to stay away from it a lot, probably because of the fact that I’m too clumsy, and I fall flat on my face on level ground, and I know if I rode that thing, things would end up horribly.

As a clumsy person, I’ve learned to stay away from things I’m sure I couldn’t handle the hard way. You can count my scars to prove my premise.

I guess it’s safe to assume we learn things by experiencing them firsthand other than listening to what other people have to say. It’s just part of our nature to do that.

Action figures – on transformers and gundams

Written on Sunday, 10 of May, 2009 at 10:42 pm

I heard Elvis talking to Harry about wanting to buy a Hasbro Transformers Movie Leader Megatron toy with Advance See armor slide and enhanced vehicle-to-robot conversion. I informed him that my friend JC, who’s an action figure addict and is currently on tour in one of those Vegas vacations, could perhaps help him select the best action figures with superior quality and advance technology.

With this, they have been in constant communication about buying action figures. Right now, they shifted from Transformers to Gundam. On Elvis’ top action figures to buy list is the Bandai Gundam Mg Xxxg 01W Wing Gundam Ver. Ka Scale 1/100. I think JC’s planning to give it to Elvis as a birthday present.

I told JC to also buy me a Sharper Image Beatmix Bumblebee Speaker For Ipod and MP3 or a Kingdom Hearts formation Arts Figure Set of 3 should he decide to buy Elvis the Gundam. That way, the shipping will be cheaper.

on miniature motorbikes

Written on Wednesday, 7 of November, 2007 at 11:11 pm

I have heard of people collecting matchboxes and miniature cars and trucks… but Mini Choppers and Pocket Bikes?

For parents out there who want to train their kids in bike riding, a pocket bike is a good place to start. Oh, in case you don’t know, a pocket bike can actually be ridden. It caters to people of all ages and riders of different skill levels. Yep, I guess people actually do collect Super Pocket Bikes and are even obsessed with them. Take my 32-year-old cousin Joel for example. He’s spending money is just break even with his needs, yet, he still manages to buy those gas powered or electric bike for his son and his collection as well.

I guess these mini-sized motorcycles can provide you with countless hours of entertainment – depending on which model you choose of course. In case you’re not sure what to buy, visit yourpocketbikes.com for product comparison and more information on what to look for in a pocket bike.
