The Video Card

Writing by on Thursday, 3 of July, 2008 at 12:32 pm

My sister just came home from Laguna and she told me about her IT1 Lab section. They had an exercise where they’d choose various parts for their computer—one that could fit their price range but still work decently fast. One of these parts is the video card.

This is usually appreciated nowadays by gamers, ‘cause games nowadays need the latest video card to work. High resolutions and such are needed, so gamers look for high-tech video cards. These cards can bring gaming to a whole new level, and make it into a new experience. Buy these at the right price, of course.

Safety Tip for the Day

Writing by on Sunday, 15 of June, 2008 at 3:52 pm

Last summer, we went to Baguio and went to Wright Park. My sisters and I rode the horses like crazy! Actually, we got tired after twenty minutes of bouncing but we still rode and had fun. Well, you don’t really get to visit Baguio City everyday, do you? Haha.

Safety tip for the day: When horseback riding, remember to check if the saddles are actually locked tight and safe ‘cause you might end up in an accident that’s uncalled for. That wouldn’t be nice to see.

So always remember to take care of yourself and your loved ones too!

Birthdays

Writing by on Thursday, 12 of June, 2008 at 9:48 am

We all know that one’s birthday is a special day. Others love to make a big fuss of it, with parties and booze and all that stuff. Others hate it when they get greeted or sang to by friends and family. I, for one, love celebrating it with my family and friends. I give out birthday invitations if it’s a party or if I get too lazy, I just text people, or invite them personally.

Don’t forget to invite ALL of your friends, ‘cause if you don’t they’ll most probably think that you don’t like them that much, or that you have some issues or there’s a problem with your friendship, so invite everyone and ask those you invited to invite others too. If you don’t have much budget, then try not to announce it in public so others wouldn’t get offended if they didn’t get invited.

Writing by on Thursday, 5 of June, 2008 at 9:09 am

There are a lot of diseases, illnesses, sicknesses, (and any other word for that) nowadays. You’ll never know when these ailments would strike you or your loved ones, so I recommend you guys to get a health insurance not only for yourselves, but only for your family as well! This way you can sleep sound knowing that even if you or your loved ones get sick, you know you can handle the expenses ‘cause these insurances would help a lot.
As the old saying goes, prevention is better than cure! It always has and it always will be. Right?! RIGHT!

Money Matters

Writing by on Wednesday, 28 of May, 2008 at 10:36 am

commercial real estate is the craze right now. Everyone wants one ‘cause they think that it can help them earn money quick. Well, there is money in business, but we mustn’t expect it to come naturally and do nothing. We should do marketing in our best way to attract more clients or customers, thus making more money for us.

Money doesn’t come in trees, so do your best in your business. Quit wasting your time during work and actually start to work! It’s better to start late than never. Do your best to change now ‘cause it’s hard to teach old dogs new tricks! Alright?

sleep - my mistress

Writing by on Saturday, 19 of April, 2008 at 9:51 pm

The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep. ~E. Joseph Cossman

I completely agree. Getting a good night’s rest can work wonders for me. My judgment tends to be impaired whenever I had little or irregular sleep. As JoJo Jensen nicely put it, “Without enough sleep, we all become tall two-year-olds.” A sound sleep at night is essential for me to function well and sometimes even melt my pain and stress away. Which is why, unlike some people, I am not a night person.

Then again, I agree with Benjamin Franklin, “Fatigue is the best pillow.” The best sleep I usually have is when I’m exhausted to the point where my mind literally goes blank as soon as I lie on my bed and close my eyes. I love that feeling. I even purposefully exhaust myself sometimes to be in that tranquil state.

I am also particular with my sleeping ambiance. I want everything to be silent and comfortable. I wake up at the tiniest shuffle or sound and cannot sleep on uncomfortable mattresses, which is why I’m also planning to avail of the Rejuvenation Bed with a memory foam mattress. Last time I checked, it was around USD 579. Then again, it’s a small price to pay for something that will contribute a great deal to my good aura and disposition for the next day.

No day is so bad it can’t be fixed with a nap. ~Carrie Snow

a recollection to remember

Writing by on Wednesday, 2 of April, 2008 at 10:29 am

My mom has been honored for being sponsored to be a lifetime member of a religious association in 1980. Majority of the members of this association belongs to the upper bracket of the society. Mom has not been active in the association for a number of years due to her sensitive position in the government. That’s why immediately after her retirement from the government service, she started to be involved again in the said association. The first activity she attended was the monthly recollection.

Prior to the start of the recollection, as the members were waiting for the priest, the chairwoman arrived. She stole the group’s attention for her elegant wardrobe with matching designer jewelry. The said officer is known for her keen interest in jewelries. As such, the other members asked for details in order to have their own set of this unique jewelry. When the chairwoman delivered a message during the recollection, she said, “Each one of us is a designer jewelry, designed by the Supreme Designer”.

need to lose weight before March 2008 ends

Writing by wisteria on Thursday, 13 of March, 2008 at 9:30 pm

It’s almost March 31. This means I either need to double my effort in preparing to lose weight, or saving up to lose my bet with my officemate Grace.

Frankly, based from my depression hormones these past few days which has been sending me into a languid state, there’s a 50% chance that my current weight will just be the same until the 31st. Then again, I’ve been so swamped with work especially with the critical period in our company that I have been working during breaks and foregoing my snacks (imagine that!). Hmmmm… will keep you posted.

picture perfect

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 8 of March, 2008 at 11:03 pm

Today I received some nice pictures from my aunt who lives in Colorado. She sent it to me by email because that’s a faster way to send letters and pictures nowadays, instead of through post delivery. Anyway, I asked her for some printed pictures also so I can include it in our family albums. This is mainly for the benefit of my mother, who likes documenting just about everything.

You should see those pictures! I really liked the wonderful colors of the landscape pictures… My aunt had them taken when she visited this place somewhere in Colorado. She said she wanted to buy some Winter Park real estate so she simply had to go there. Good for her!

the crib of the generation

Writing by wisteria on Thursday, 6 of March, 2008 at 11:14 am

Last year, my Mom was not able to attend the wedding ceremony of my cousin Lalaine. As such, when the invitation for Lalaine’s love child’s baptism was received, all the members of the family came to welcome the newborn to the Christian world.

What caught my Mom’s attention at the residence of my cousin was the baby crib with similar features to that of Emily crib, I saw at the website. This is the crib made 28 years ago, by my grandfather, who was an expert carpenter. Mom recalled that she requested grandpa to make this crib for my brother. Since then, the crib has been transferred from home to home where there is a newborn in the family. My two younger sisters and I had used this crib of the generation too.
