house party!

Writing by on Friday, 27 of June, 2008 at 1:12 am

Lately, I have been so busy with work that I haven’t had time to go out with my friends. I already miss them so much. Last night, Mark (one of my friends) called me and said that he had set up a “get together” party with our friends this Saturday night – in my place! And that they’ll even stay overnight! *panic* My apartment is a total mess! I need to clean up! I’m very conscious when it comes to friends staying at my place. I usually don’t get them to stay here, ya know.

I especially make sure that the kitchen and the bathroom are squeaky clean. Good thing I just had my bathroom renovated and now it has a stylish faucet installed (bragging rights). As for the bedroom, just need to vacuum a little (…and a little more). Now if only I could only find some new bed sheets… hmmm… and oh! Almost forgot to hide those undies behind the door! *whew!*

Huhh… I’m exhausted but I’m glad I’ll see my friends again. And oh, Mark! You better bring lots of booze and kebabs or else I won’t let you use the xbox!

Wine Clubs?

Writing by on Wednesday, 28 of May, 2008 at 9:37 am

Everybody loves wine! I love wine, myself. I enjoy drinking it with my family and friends—but not all the time. Drinking socially is fun, but too much of anything is bad for your health. I’ve been thinking about joining a wine club to meet other people who adore and love wine as much as I do.

I have looked into the internet to look for the ultimate wine of the month club. These clubs are not just any wine clubs, but they are especially screened and observed by critics. So you can most probably tell that they are good.

If you have any wine clubs to recommend me, please feel free to do so. My mail is always open for all your suggestions. Thank you very much!

Vacation Time!

Writing by on Saturday, 10 of May, 2008 at 9:35 am

Today, let us talk about the wonderful world of VACATION! Vacationing is a very relaxing hobby. Just don’t do it too much or you’ll end up losing your job.

There are a lot of places that are good for vacationing like Hawaii, Boracay, Portugal, Rome and others. You can learn a lot in visiting these places. I am pretty interested now in the Hilton Head Island. It’s pretty big and is surrounded by interesting spots like Calibogue Sound, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Broad River, and the Atlantic Ocean.

If you’re interested yourself, try getting Hilton Head rentals. If you have comments or suggestions regarding the subject, feel free!

sleep - my mistress

Writing by on Saturday, 19 of April, 2008 at 9:51 pm

The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep. ~E. Joseph Cossman

I completely agree. Getting a good night’s rest can work wonders for me. My judgment tends to be impaired whenever I had little or irregular sleep. As JoJo Jensen nicely put it, “Without enough sleep, we all become tall two-year-olds.” A sound sleep at night is essential for me to function well and sometimes even melt my pain and stress away. Which is why, unlike some people, I am not a night person.

Then again, I agree with Benjamin Franklin, “Fatigue is the best pillow.” The best sleep I usually have is when I’m exhausted to the point where my mind literally goes blank as soon as I lie on my bed and close my eyes. I love that feeling. I even purposefully exhaust myself sometimes to be in that tranquil state.

I am also particular with my sleeping ambiance. I want everything to be silent and comfortable. I wake up at the tiniest shuffle or sound and cannot sleep on uncomfortable mattresses, which is why I’m also planning to avail of the Rejuvenation Bed with a memory foam mattress. Last time I checked, it was around USD 579. Then again, it’s a small price to pay for something that will contribute a great deal to my good aura and disposition for the next day.

No day is so bad it can’t be fixed with a nap. ~Carrie Snow

fighting the effect of a sedentary lifestyle

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 26 of January, 2008 at 8:55 pm

When I was a kid, I ate a lot without gaining a pound. That’s why I used to wonder why there are fat old people in the world.

Now that I’m in the early 20’s and with a lifestyle that spends most of the time typing in front of a computer, I found the answer – the sedentary lifestyle. This is what makes people go “festively plump” as Eric Cartman from South Park nicely puts it.

Unfortunately, I’m starting to gain weight. I acquired 10 lbs in just 3 months. If I’m not careful, I just might end up like Eric Cartman *shiver*. Which is why, I really need to invest on a fitness equipment that I can still use in spite of my hectic schedule. Sigh. I hope by March, I already burned at least 5 lbs.

on being eco friendly

Writing by wisteria on Monday, 5 of November, 2007 at 9:33 pm

I am not an environment-friendly advocate. But I am conscious of our obligation as human beings to make sure that the place we’re living in now will still be safe for the coming generations. Given a choice, I make certain that I somehow contribute to this goal by patronizing eco friendly products over the harmful ones.

This Sunday, my mom had 12 solar powered lights installed outside our house. She got those as gifts from my uncle in Oregon. Although I know the basics on how it works, I was still in awe.

live greener products I decided to enhance my knowledge more on this type of products and ended up in GreenMusings – a community blog where people share their “going green” stories and pictures. It tackles subjects like “Vegetable Oil as Fuel for a Car”. I read on and their website GreenandMore.com actually offers a lot of environment-friendly products for cleaning, energy savings, home décor, accessories, home furniture, and even gifts! Whoever said being eco-friendly was boring ought to visit their website. You’ll be surprised and amazed at the products there – from Aquasana Purity Sports Bottles with Water Filters to floor and table lamps and multi-pack work stations.

To cap it off, they even have an opening discount of 10% off on orders with just this coupon code (expires on Dec. 31): GREEN10. Next time someone thinks it’s boring to be eco-friendly, do visit their site.

on buying cars

Writing by wisteria on Tuesday, 14 of August, 2007 at 4:18 am

If you think buying a car is expensive, you have another thought coming. Owning a car is just the beginning of your car expenses. There’s still the car registration fee, your daily or weekly Consequently, you ought to avail of products that will help you minimize your car cost. A good example of this is an electric pressure washer which will allow you to wash your car at home without the maintenance of a gas motor. Moreover, you can even use it to wash your outdoor (picnic) tables and chairs or perhaps even your pet dog!

Next time you think of buying a car, don’t just limit the cost to the amount you need to pay for the car.

limos no longer just for the wealthy

Writing by wisteria on Tuesday, 7 of August, 2007 at 10:11 pm

Derived from the name of the French region Limousin, and also known as limo, limousine is an unusually long luxury car that is generally driven by chauffeurs and is often associated with wealthy people. This is generally used for weddings, proms, bachelor(ette) parties, birthday events, city tours, nights-on-the town, bar-hopping and clubbing, holiday light tours, corporate road shows, airport transportation, transportation to or from a resort and cross-town transfers.

Nowadays, with online limo services directories that provide a user-friendly, fast and free way to get limousine companies to compete for business, limos are no longer just for the wealthy and famous. That is, you need not worry on the expensive rates of limo rentals and the hassle of getting a limo because services like hummer limo rentals are just a click away and are more affordable since they are competing with each other for your business! To cap it off, you can view different pictures of available limos, or just click on the companies that match your preferences and let them come to you.

The next time you feel like traveling with style, book a limo.
