Working Environment

Written on Sunday, 6 of March, 2011 at 9:24 pm

As an employed person, one of the factors I consider when choosing a company is the work environment. The current state of the office that I am working on affects my mood and performance, overall.

I know it’s a trivial thing, but just a tip to all the employers out there: make sure your working environment is comfortable and eye pleasing. It makes a big difference.

Stress and work are two things that you can’t separate from each other, but with the right office design and environment, stress can be reduced exponentially, thus making your employees more productive and happy.

Take me, for example. I’d prefer working on a place with modern office chairs than one with tiny cubicles and plastic chairs. It would help me feel comfortable while working, thus helping me think and act more efficiently.

Always pay attention to the little things. When combined together they make something big.

Age well, age beautifully!

Written on Wednesday, 15 of September, 2010 at 8:48 pm

In this lifetime, I’ve seen a lot of people age. But there are only a few who I’ve seen have aged beautifully.

I generally approach those people to compliment them on their wonderful and envy-worthy aging, and to get some tips on how to look like them. After all, I’m not getting any younger. Aging is inevitable. But then, instead of fighting against the inevitable, the best approach is to accept it and but make sure you still take care of whatever it is that isn’t beyond your control.

You know what their secret is?

Sunscreen and face moisturizers.

Come to think of it, people do take their skin for granted especially when they’re young. What the majority doesn’t know is that by the age 25 (even 21), signs of aging appears and if you do not moisturize and put sunscreen, you’ll start looking 40 even when you’re still in your 30’s. Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that our ozone layers are depleting, which means the sun’s rays are becoming more harmful.

So, if you want to age beautifully, the next time you go out, moisturize and protect yourself from the sun! Age well, age beautifully! ^_^

Clumsy Me

Written on Saturday, 14 of August, 2010 at 9:32 pm

As a kid, I’ve always had this slight intimidation with wheels.

I couldn’t ride anything that had less than three wheels on it even if my life depended on it.

My brother had these power wheels when he was young, and I used to stay away from it a lot, probably because of the fact that I’m too clumsy, and I fall flat on my face on level ground, and I know if I rode that thing, things would end up horribly.

As a clumsy person, I’ve learned to stay away from things I’m sure I couldn’t handle the hard way. You can count my scars to prove my premise.

I guess it’s safe to assume we learn things by experiencing them firsthand other than listening to what other people have to say. It’s just part of our nature to do that.

Flood

Written on Saturday, 30 of January, 2010 at 1:45 am

Our basement got flooded last 2008….it was heart breaking as we tried salvaging what was left from our old stuff. Old textbooks in grade school to high school with our own notes, Decades old books kept by my mom, my mom’s wedding dress, my dad’s plaques, basically years of tangible sentimental stuff. It was hard picking out most of the stuff that we can save, but it was more hard to let go of the thing s we couldn’t. My mom who was tired was sobbing all over the place.

The flood was unexpected because it was something about our water pipes that did it and not some natural occurrence. It apparently went on during the night while we were in our deepest slumbers. The next morning my cousin who was staying over for a week… went down to get a book to read, that was basically how we all found out about it. It was too late.

At least no one got hurt, if by any chance someone decided to sleep there last night (like me, I like sleeping there every now and then) something bad might have happened. Out of all the sadness at least we had one thing to be happy about: we were all okay and together.

A new bird park in Florida

Written on Thursday, 14 of January, 2010 at 1:23 am

It is sad that we do not see much of the migrating birds nowadays. When I was a child, my parents always take me to the riverside to watch the migratory birds feed on the fishes. It was an amazing view. We come in that place very early in the morning, when the fog still covers the water. But now, the river is already polluted and much of the riverside is has been commercialized. It’s unfortunate that the new generation will not be able to see that amazing view…

Earlier, I got a chance to talk with a good old friend of mine from Florida. He was asking me to do some research regarding Avalon zoos. I was told that a Nocatee businessman named richard willich will be converting the wet lands to a bird park! This is really amazing. My friend works in advertising, so I guess the research he asked for will be used for that purpose.

I did a little research about bird parks and I found an article that mentioned Richard Willich being one of the biggest donors of the bird park in Florida. So I guess this businessman does not intend to build the park just for money. Maybe he wants the future generation to see the great egrets in action in their own habitat. In my own opinion, what this guy is creating is a bird paradise that will be appreciated by the future generations.

Unusual find of the Bargain Princess

Written on Saturday, 3 of October, 2009 at 8:33 am

Being the “Bargain Princess” as my friends put it, anything with the word “discount”, “sale”, “freebies”, “cheap”, and the likes are sure to get my attention. I have been fascinated with a lot of stuff you can get at a cheap rate. However, I was extremely surprised to encounter discount cigars. It is common knowledge after all, that smoking is bad for your health. Putting cigars on sale will definitely NOT help the growing number of people getting lung cancer due to first and second-hand smoking.

Then again, with all the prices going up, a discount for some products like that one is not such a bad idea. Perhaps the rest of the merchandise on the market might follow suit. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

safety tips for motorcycle drivers

Written on Saturday, 29 of November, 2008 at 8:18 am

I just received news that a friend of mine, Ron, had a motorcycle accident last Friday. I rushed to the hospital as soon as I heard. Fortunately, he just sustained minor cuts and a bruised ribcage. I was able to talk to him and he said that he was on his way home when a delivery truck slammed on his side and pushed him off the road. Good thing he was well protected with a certified helmet.

As for the truck driver, it turned out that he was over-speeding and lacked appropriate training and certification from a truck driving school.

Motorcycles are very dangerous to drive especially at night. Because they are small, car drivers sometimes do not see them instantly. Here are some tips I want to share to all you motorcycle drivers out there:

  • Always wear a certified helmet. Never use helmets which are of poor quality because it will just be the same as not wearing a helmet at all.
  • Wear bright-colored or reflective outfit so that you can be easily seen by other drivers. You can even add reflective stickers to your helmet.
  • Add more signal lights to your motorbike. Flashing brake lights are recommended.
  • Finally, always drive responsibly and defensively. It is very easy to be carried away with excitement when riding a motorbike.

I hope you learned a little from what my friend had experienced. In accidents like this, it wont matter who has the right of way. The one who sustains injuries will always be the loser. So always be cautious and careful when driving. Youll never know when something like a truck might hit you.

Issues on Security

Written on Sunday, 1 of June, 2008 at 4:12 pm

Making sure that your children are safe all the time isnt a bad thing. They might think youre being too strict or overprotective, but if you really do love them, youll secure their future, right?
I dont have kids myself but if ever given the chance to have one, or more, then Ill most probably get a children’s life insurance to ensure my childrens safety.

I cant stress this enough. Prevention is better than cure. Its better to spend a few money saving up for security for your loved ones than being shocked at some expense you werent able to save money on.

The Wonders of Water & Faucets

Written on Friday, 25 of April, 2008 at 11:53 am

Water is a part of mans needs. We can live for days without food but we can never live without water. Faucets are widely used nowadays to regulate the flow of liquid from a pipe or drum. You won’t see a decent bathroom without a faucet nowadays ’cause not only is it useful, but it is also affordable!

We always see Grohe products where water is found. Do you ever wonder why? Its simply because this brand is widely trusted in the whole world. If many people trust this brand, then maybe its cause it really is worth the money you paid for it and more!

It really is made to be convenient in our high-paced society nowadays, so I guess its pretty much convenient for all of us!

the menace of the society

Written on Tuesday, 11 of March, 2008 at 9:26 pm

Drug-users are everywhere! You can see them in the hidden alleys, secluded bars, or some random guy’s basement! I think this is becoming a threat to our society. Parents should be aware of what their children are doing!

If you find out that your son/daughter is a drug-user, do your part in making the world a better place and take him/her to one of the best drug treatment centers. These centers are very useful, and they don’t FORCE your children to stop using drugs and turn them into rebelling monsters.

Most rehabilitation centers have a good atmosphere, and they calm the senses. Not only do they treat drug-users, but also eating disorders, depression, and many more! If you’re good at choosing, you might even get a paradise on Earth! They might even forget that they’re in a rehabilitation center! They would learn a lot on that experience. Your children would thank you for sending them to a rehabilitation center someday.
