If you know me well enough because you’ve been reading my blog for quite a while, you’d know that I have a not-so-secret thing for gadgets.
Lately, I have been wanting to improve our family home by buying a couple of shelves to make a mini library, and I’ve looked about things such as where to buy Energy speakers for my shelves, and so far I haven’t really found the right fit just yet.
What kind of energy speakers do you recommend and where do you buy them? I don’t think I’m that good with price ranges on the said area just yet, I might need to do a little more research, so if you do have free time, please comment on this post and help me!
I promise to take photos of the library once renovation is over and it’s all pretty and ready for the world to see!
What do you think!?

More often than note, I find it difficult to choose what to buy for my friends during Christmas seasons. I usually resort to online suggestions, or typical gifts like handkerchiefs or shirts.
I made it a point to write down what I think people need from then on. If I see someone whose wallet is broken, I write it down on my tiny notepad. This way I don’t have too much trouble picking out what I should buy for my friends.
I wanted an ipod touch this year, for myself at least, so I wasn’t really able to buy my friends the gifts that I listed down on my tiny notebook, but I’ll be sure to save up and get them these gifts next year.
How do you pick out which gifts you want to buy for your friends?

Time went by so fast during my week long vacation that I did not even notice the newly opened restaurant beside the office. To think that just last week that same spot where the restaurant was built still was an empty parking lot. It is really amazing how fast engineers build steel buildings
these days. It was built like a large tent, with steel frame and probably synthetic roofing. No wonder it suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
My friends and I checked out the restaurant earlier at lunch. The food was great, especially the salads. And best of all, everything was half the price! (Grand opening). One thing I have noticed in their menu is, all the veggies are fresh. The cabbage and lettuce looked like they were just hand-picked the same day. We had the chance to speak with the owner and she bragged that their veggies are “organic”. What she meant by “organic” is that the veggies are free from pesticides and were harvested from their own farm.
Since I am one of those health freaks who love veggies, this restaurant seemed like heaven to me. My friends by the way did not enjoy the meal. This is because they prefer having heavy lunch, steaks and all, rather than just salads and dips. Well… that’s their problem. hehe

One of the perks in my friend MJ’s new company is a 70% discount on the monthly fee in Gold’s Gym. What’s really great about it is that MJ can sign-up two more people for the same discounted rate! Guess who’s one of the friends he invited? Moi! ^_^
The other one is his new housemate, Tony. MJ said we could all start on June 1. All we need is to get the access card at their office on Tuesday, and then we can go straight to the gym and start sweating the fats off.
I’m pretty excited. I heard they offer the best ab workout there. If all goes well, I’ll have a to-die-for body just before I join my new company on the last week of June. Now all I need is to follow a rigid exercise routine and minimize my intake of carbohydrates.

My cousin Abi will be taking her medical board exam this August. Now that her internship’s over, she’s determined to spend the rest of her days reviewing for the exam in the basement.
To help her have a more conducive learning space, I assisted her in rearranging the basement. Unfortunately, after cleaning it up, we found that the desk and chair that she’s supposed to use are both broken and beyond repair. Instead of buying new ones though, we decided to ask the principal of the school a few blocks away from our house if they’re selling old school furniture. Just our luck, the school’s on the process of renovating several classrooms and getting rid of the entire classroom furniture, including their white boards! Abi and I ended up hiring a van to bring several desks, chairs, and even a white board home. ^_^ Problem solved – cheaply!

Being the “Bargain Princess” as my friends put it, anything with the word “discount”, “sale”, “freebies”, “cheap”, and the likes are sure to get my attention. I have been fascinated with a lot of stuff you can get at a cheap rate. However, I was extremely surprised to encounter discount cigars. It is common knowledge after all, that smoking is bad for your health. Putting cigars on sale will definitely NOT help the growing number of people getting lung cancer due to first and second-hand smoking.
Then again, with all the prices going up, a discount for some products like that one is not such a bad idea. Perhaps the rest of the merchandise on the market might follow suit. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

There was a clearance sale yesterday in my favorite electronic and gadgets shop. Being a trigger-happy photographer, I have been having problems with my memory space in my DSLR. So, upon hearing the word sale and having just received my salary, I immediately logged out of work and went to the store as soon as 5:30 p.m. struck. Hehehe.
Did I mention how much I love the clearance in a clearance sale? The prices can go really low. I was able to purchase SanDisk 16GB Extreme III compact flash card for only $84.95! Imagine that! The bargain princess struck gold again! ^^;

I went to the mall today! Actually, I never really intended to go there since I have a lot of stuff to do on my own. I still haven’t done my reports and I only have a few days left to finish it. Add that to my usual but very tiresome household chores.
Anyway, I went to all the fancy outdoor furniture shops I can find within the mall to shop for our new outdoor furniture. The good old backyard seats we have are already rotting and it would be very risky for us if we continue on using it. After I window shopped, I now have an idea on what outdoor furniture to select, since I already found out what fits our design scheme and on which shops have the nicest designs at the lowest cost. It was really great, I’m thinking I might window shop again tomorrow..

This summer, Karmina, my old colleague, and her boyfriend are planning to go on an outdoor trip. They have been saving up for it for months now. However, Karmina still needs a pair of shoes which makes this information really valuable for me because I have no idea what to give her this Christmas.
My friend Alvin, a camper addict, suggested I buy her a Converse Hiking Boots or a LaCrosse Hunting Boots. Im not that familiar with the specs and designs of good outdoor boots though. Its a good thing I saw an online boots store, metboots.com, which offers gift certificates. Ill just give her one of those $100 GCs so she can have her own pick online and of course ensure that shell get to avail of their free shipping on items over $100.

This November, instead of going to my dads province, my parents decided to book their flights in Qantas, one of the worlds oldest airlines, to visit their old friends in Perth, Australia. The last time they saw each other was in a couples week 11 years ago.
My dad was surprised with the cheap flights, and was so happy that he decided to hold draw lots among us and whoever gets the lowest number gets to join them in their trip to Australia. I was not able to get the lowest number though. Oh well, Ill just secure my next holiday by availing of Qantas special prices on flights next year.
