a recollection to remember

Writing by on Wednesday, 2 of April, 2008 at 10:29 am

My mom has been honored for being sponsored to be a lifetime member of a religious association in 1980. Majority of the members of this association belongs to the upper bracket of the society. Mom has not been active in the association for a number of years due to her sensitive position in the government. That’s why immediately after her retirement from the government service, she started to be involved again in the said association. The first activity she attended was the monthly recollection.

Prior to the start of the recollection, as the members were waiting for the priest, the chairwoman arrived. She stole the group’s attention for her elegant wardrobe with matching designer jewelry. The said officer is known for her keen interest in jewelries. As such, the other members asked for details in order to have their own set of this unique jewelry. When the chairwoman delivered a message during the recollection, she said, “Each one of us is a designer jewelry, designed by the Supreme Designer”.

pearls - the classic, all occasion accessory

Writing by on Friday, 28 of March, 2008 at 8:58 pm

I am a huge fan of pearls. For me, pearl accessories are classic – it can go with just about everything. From elegant parties and tea gathering, to just mall hopping or even a business meeting, one can never go wrong with pearls.

In fact, a simple pearl earring, unadorned with diamonds or precious stones, is enough to lighten up and enhance one’s face. It’s a must have in your basic checklist of accessories.

For me, majority of my accessories consist of Akoya pearls. My favorite is my three-layered customized floating pearl necklace. It’s simple, yet dainty enough to make people glance twice or even stare.

what lies beneath

Writing by on Wednesday, 26 of March, 2008 at 12:28 pm

I have a list of things I want to buy. Recently, I added a new item to that list: sexy lingerie. This was due to the influence of my friend, who sells the stuff and who also happens to be a collector of different brands of undergarments. Upon seeing my closet, she commented on how my undergarments were way too decent. She also gave me a lecture on how important it is that I be prepared for everything that might happen, including the occasional wardrobe malfunction. I realized the wisdom of her teachings so I simply had to give in.

Nowadays, she’s busy enticing me to join her in her favorite recreational activity, which is all about shopping for undergarments.

Ring ring…

Writing by wisteria on Friday, 8 of February, 2008 at 9:04 pm

Today my friend Mara called and asked me for price quotations on wedding rings. She’ll be getting married this April and is currently swamped with the wedding preparations. I don’t know a thing about rings of that type, since I’m still single and has not yet considered even owning one.

Anyway, I think she chose me for that task since I have access to computers and she knows I like surfing the internet. So I browsed different websites, and looked at their price ranges for different designs and for different materials. I didn’t know it could cost so much! Well, of course the price depends on the metal type, the intricacy of the design used for the ring, and most particularly, the brand. Still, most of them really cost a fortune.

Anyhow, I suggested several simple elegant rings that are not-so-expensive. She’ll be sending the feedback soon…

wearing chains

Writing by wisteria on Thursday, 24 of January, 2008 at 8:26 pm

Jewelry nowadays seem like a very essential accessory for women. There are wide ranges of designs and lots of kinds to choose from like necklaces and bracelets. Of course we would not be able to wear jewelry without their chains. Have you ever seen a necklace without a chain?

There are many materials of chains, but all of my friends recommend the gold chain as the best chain for your jewelry needs. Some of my friends recommend the silver chain but based on my experience, I would recommend you to use the gold chain too. The gold chain is available in a variety of lengths.

Did you know that gold is even used for money? It’s like wearing money on you. Nice, huh? Why don’t you try it? For further comments, please don’t hesitate to post one on this blog post.

Boots, boots, boots!

Writing by wisteria on Sunday, 20 of January, 2008 at 10:00 am

I have been addicted to boots since I was a teen and I can say that I have experienced a lot of ups and downs with my pairs of boots. Not only do they provide you with comfort and heat during cold weather, they also scream, “I HAVE A VERY UNIQUE FASHION SENSE!”

If you are addicted to boots like I am, you should try Emu Australia. They provide a wide range of boots. Their designs are not like those stereotype-boots that the famous stars wear nowadays. They have a unique touch of the Australian race in them. From kids’ to adults’ boots, they all rock!

sunglasses - cover-up for my puffy eyes

Writing by wisteria on Tuesday, 25 of December, 2007 at 1:51 am

I woke up a while ago and noticed how red and puffy my eyes are from too much unconscious scrubbing last night (thanks to the smoke from the fireworks display). I waited for an hour for it to subside but they still look like I caught the sore eyes. This got me into the, “time for disguise” mood. I have a Christmas party to attend to and I’m not going to let my eyes deter me from all those luscious food!

Then it hit me. I do not have sunglasses to hide my reddish puffed eyes. I lost my Blu Blocker Sunglasses in one of my beach escapades last spring. Tsk tsk… I guess I’ll just have to drop by the mall first and grab myself another pair of sunglasses before going to the party.

my uncle is a triathlete

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 22 of December, 2007 at 10:14 pm

Uncle Robert visited us after not seeing him for a couple of years. What caught my attention was his Technomarine watch. Curious, I bombarded him with questions about his watch.

I learned that Uncle Robert is a diver and a triathlete. FYI, a triathlete is a person who joins an athletic event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances. In the performance of his sea duty and whenever he joins a triathlon, my uncle needs this quality watch.

which peep toe shoes?

Writing by wisteria on Tuesday, 6 of November, 2007 at 12:38 am

After sneakers, my next favorite footwear are peep toe flats and peep toe pumps respectively.

I recently bought a cheap but comfortable, all-around, cream sneakers to replace my four-year-old rubbershoes. Now it’s time for me to say goodbye to my classic black peep toe shoes and replace it with… Hmmm… I’m having a hard time choosing which peep toe foot wear.

Thanks to Glimpse.com, a fashion retailer site that provides users helpful product sorting tools like popular items, items on sale, popular brands, and the average market price for a particular product, my selection has been immediately narrowed down to three: an Alyssa Satin Peep Toe Pump, a Charles David ‘Wanton’ Pump, and a DKNY Senora-Peep Toe Pump.

Or maybe I should just buy all three? Hehehe… I wish.

which outdoor boots to buy?

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 3 of November, 2007 at 5:43 am

This summer, Karmina, my old colleague, and her boyfriend are planning to go on an outdoor trip. They have been saving up for it for months now. However, Karmina still needs a pair of shoes… which makes this information really valuable for me because I have no idea what to give her this Christmas.

My friend Alvin, a camper addict, suggested I buy her a Converse Hiking Boots or a LaCrosse Hunting Boots. I’m not that familiar with the specs and designs of good outdoor boots though. It’s a good thing I saw an online boots store, metboots.com, which offers gift certificates. I’ll just give her one of those $100 GCs so she can have her own pick online and of course ensure that she’ll get to avail of their free shipping on items over $100.
