Just last month, I have successfully achieved my five year goal – to become debt free. At last, I was able to pay for all my credit card bills. So to celebrate, I went to the mall and bought myself a nice big bowl of healthy frozen yogurt. It was amazing. Yogurt never tasted that good, ever.
However, on my way home, I passed by a large crowd lining up on some items. I became curious so I looked. blu ray home theatre system packages for 70% off the price!
I was just, “what the h”! I must get one of these! But then I remembered that I have always dreamed of getting a player like that. And with that kind of price slash, who could resist.
So there, I gave in to the temptation. I am again, indebted to my bank. Thanks a lot you big bowl of yogurt!

Last week I went on a field trip with some of my colleagues at work. We went on a mountain hike. It was the first time that I tried that. Before the actual hike, I had so many expectations. I expected a lot of trees for shade, fresh potable water streaming through a creek, wild flowers, etc. However everything in that trip was not what I expected.
The trees were few, the sun was scorching hot, the creeks were dry, and the flowers, well, most of them I can see on my back yard. The worst part of this is, I ruined my five hundred dollar running shoes.
No one ever said that Backpacking Boots were necessary. I thought that if I wear comfortable shoes then I will not have problems climbing rocks. But then I was wrong.
Fortunately, there was one thing that made me love that trip. It was the view from the top. It was spectacular. Seeing that kind of view will definitely make you believe that God really exists. I took a picture with my DSLR yet it was very different from the real thing.
Oh well, I learned my lesson. Next time I will gear up appropriately to enjoy the hike much more.

I just cannot believe how easy it is to evade customs tax in the Philippines.
A friend of mine flew there last week bringing with him several silver dollar collectibles. These are very rare coins that he wanted to sell to a friend of his (both of them are avid coin collectors). At first I thought that it would be very difficult for him to get pass through the airport without paying customs tax. However, I was proven wrong. The moment he passed the airport, he called me up and said that the customs was a piece of cake.
He told me he bribed the customs agent with only a few bucks and he let him pass. As I was happy for him, I was furious because last year I got taxed a hundred dollars for bringing two if my laptops there. It was just insane. Also, I am really concerned that terrorists might abuse this kind of faulty security.

I kind of am considering looking for Travel Jobs. I don’t know, really. I don’t intend to quit my current job, but I guess it’s nice to know that you can still change your mind whenever you want to and that you’re not trapped inside this box and you can’t get out.
That’s kind of the way I feel right now, like everything else is planned out for me.
Sorry for the emotional post, but it’s just my way of venting out things I can’t normally tell people. I want to travel the world so I can visit my sister someday. I want to have a job where I get to see all the diverse cultures and appreciate each and every one of them.
On the list of places I want to go to, though, I’d definitely go to New York to see my sister first. She just left a while ago and I already miss her. Not to mention the free haircuts! Hahaha.
