Such a stressful day

Written on Sunday, 28 of August, 2011 at 1:16 am

Just how stupid can anyone get right? Yeah, I was actually referring to myself. Earlier today I accidentally drove into a garbage truck. The worst part is, the truck was parked. I was so much in a hurry to get to work today that I was really out of focus. You see I forgot that I have a brunch meeting with an important client and the stupid Outlook calendar did not remind me at all. I was so stressed with everything that I took for granted that there might be something behind my car. And so there it was, I crashed into a parked truck while it was picking up my trash.

Fortunately the truck triver was kind enough not to shout at me and we agreed to meet tomorrow to talk about the damages. My car had damage but I ruined the side door of the truck. I am currently working on the auto estimating right now to submit to insurance. As for my client, it turned out well, even though I looked like a drunk fool in the meeting.

Trying out hydroponics

Written on Saturday, 27 of August, 2011 at 10:51 am

I have been very fond of gardening since I can remember. In my backyard, I have vegetables, trees, flowering plants and fruit bearing ones. I just love it when my neighbors envy my lemons and oranges, just kidding.

Anyhow, I attended a church gathering yesterday and one of the members, Candice, was offering organic vegetables at the end of the worship session. I was not interested at first because I basically have all the vegetables I eat right at my own backyard. However, Candice also brought some pictures of her organic farm. To my surprise, I saw that She was growing vegetables INSIDE the house. She had a garden room inside the house and she is using Hydroponics to grow vegetables.

Hydroponics is a technique for growing plants without the use of soil. Plants grow in styro pots with their roots under water. The water is actually a nutrient solution of organic substances which is circulated by commercial pumps. Of course this is a capital intensive type of gardening but it is also highly productive.

Because I was more interested with her garden than with her products she invited me over! I am on my way now to her house to try out hydroponics. I am so excited

Phases

Written on Saturday, 13 of August, 2011 at 11:44 am

I think everyone of us has gone through all of these weird phases in our lives.

I, for one, had an emo phase and a hip hop phase. I also had a phase where I cried my heart out on the world wide web for any other person to see and to laugh at, it was embarrassing, and I read that blog still, from time to time, and I laugh about it with my friends. Don’t think I’d share it with you guys on this blog though! Never in a million years.

I think I find my brother’s phases hilarious. They’re just so random. He had this ATV phase where there was nothing more important in this world than his ATV. He’d spend months taking part time jobs so he could buy those special RZR XP Accessories. He also had this Apple phase. In fact, he still is in that phase right now. If you enter his room it’s like a freaking apple store.

He has every product they have! I’m not even exaggerating.

It’s fun to look back to who we were before, every once in a while, don’t you think?

More gadgets!

Written on Friday, 12 of August, 2011 at 11:46 am

If you know me well enough because you’ve been reading my blog for quite a while, you’d know that I have a not-so-secret thing for gadgets.

Lately, I have been wanting to improve our family home by buying a couple of shelves to make a mini library, and I’ve looked about things such as where to buy Energy speakers for my shelves, and so far I haven’t really found the right fit just yet.

What kind of energy speakers do you recommend and where do you buy them? I don’t think I’m that good with price ranges on the said area just yet, I might need to do a little more research, so if you do have free time, please comment on this post and help me!

I promise to take photos of the library once renovation is over and it’s all pretty and ready for the world to see!

What do you think!?

The Next Step

Written on Saturday, 6 of August, 2011 at 2:05 pm

My friend hilary is moving in with her husband tomorrow and we’re holding a house warming party for her.

We’d bring food that we ourselves have cooked and eat them all in their new terrace while discussing trivial things such as their future plans for the family, and how many kids they want to have! It’s time to scare them half to death since they started moving on towards the next step. Teehee.

Their new house is simply fantastic, and the best thing that I love about it would be the view from the roof top. The view is just priceless. You get to see the landscape of the whole city from there, and I could just imagine the fireworks that she’d be able to see during New Years.

I’m still considering what new house gift I should get her. She seems to have everything covered! Hahaha.

I’m so happy for her and her husband. I hope they have a happy marriage, much like my parents.
