Got my dream item for my dream price

Written on Wednesday, 29 of June, 2011 at 7:57 am

I found a great way to buy the best items at the cheapest prices! Online auctions! It is like a garage sale posted online. You can do a Google search for these sites. Ebay is also an auction site, however the “buy now” option contradicts to the auction site idea.

The auction sites I am referring to are posted by companies who are selling their used items. Usually these items are of very high quality because they are intended for industrial purpose. They usually just come and go so just be a little patient while accessing these pages.

Anyhow, last week, I won an auction for a honda generator. I always wanted a generator at home, but I found it really expensive. Although a necessity in out town (since it is always raining here and blackouts are common) I could not afford to spend that much money.
Fortunately, my friend suggested this idea to me.

Oh well. I was just sharing. It is not everyday that I get a dream item for a dream price right? So I might as well brag about it.

Dreams of a little kid

Written on Monday, 20 of June, 2011 at 3:03 pm

When I was young I used to watch the stars with my brother until our parents scolded us for staying up late and forced us to go to bed. This was one of the reasons why I begged our mom to build a rooftop when our house was still being constructed.

When I was thirteen, our parents bought us both spotting scopes. It’s a smaller telescope used for low magnification visions. I loved watching birds nest and just staring at the wildlife around us. My brother started going to college, so most of the time I did this alone.

I kind of miss it, hanging out with my brother like that. Maybe when he graduates we’ll have more times like that together.

What kind of activities did you do when you were young, and who did you do it with?

Home Systems — I want one!

Written on Wednesday, 15 of June, 2011 at 11:07 pm

My brother recently bought a new home system so he could watch movies in high definition and surround sound, and it made me a little jealous.

He gave his old sound system for us to use in the living room, but for me it simply isn’t enough. I blame man’s natural instinct of never being content! Haha! Just kidding, but really, I think that what our sound system needs would be Energy speakers for bookshelf.

With that I could watch all the Lord of the Rings movies, and then follow that marathon with a Harry Potter movie marathon. I’d invite all my friends to enjoy the awesomeness that is the surround sound and the magnificent television screen.

Japan visit cancelled

Written on Friday, 10 of June, 2011 at 9:53 am

Seems like Japan got struck too hard by the tsunami. I was planning to go there to visit but when I talked to my travel agent she advised me not to go. Japan is still a mess, she said. She explained that all the news about the radiation and road blockage led to a drop on their tourism. Lesser tourists means less enjoyment in my visit.

I feel sorry for the Japanese people especially for those directly affected by the recent tragedy. It is like Hiroshima all over again. Hopefully they could recover just like they did in the world war.

Doing some research, I saw that because of the tsunami, more and more manufacturers are offering easy to build mobile homes. These houses are pre built and are assembled upon delivery. I have seen one near the office. In a couple of days, a store was built without people even noticing. Hmm… come to think of it, I might just be interested in getting those mobile home for sale in the future.
