Weight Loss..?

Written on Thursday, 14 of October, 2010 at 1:43 pm

What are weight loss pills and how do you know if they really are effective?

There are a wide variety of weight loss pills out in the market right now, and many people buy this for the standards that media has imprinted upon our brains, which I guess is quite a good thing, opening our eyes in self consciousness and what not.

Where can we find weight loss pills that work? How do we know if they really work?

They say that experience is the best teacher, but why force yourself to experience the bad things when you can learn from other people? It would be best to learn from the mistakes of other people, so you don’t commit it yourself and regret it in the end.

There however are a few exceptions to this rule. Some people never learn anything until they experience them singlehandedly, and it just can’t be helped.

Feel free to post your experiences on certain weight loss pills on this post! We will be reading everything you write. :)

Slaving for the “Director” position

Written on Wednesday, 6 of October, 2010 at 3:36 pm

Ever since I moved to this new company, my second company, I have been slaving myself for the “Director” title. I have never worked so hard in my entire life. I’ve been doing 13-14 hour shifts in one week and working on weekends as well! I have never imagined myself in this situation – so little time, too much to do.

I’m on the brink of being burned out. But anyway, I still have more than a month to go before my performance evaluation. Since I want that title badly, and I’ve been already slaving away for the past four months, might as well keep it up until I get THE “Director” title. It’s not everyday a 27-(soon to be 28)-year-old person gets to have that opportunity.

Unfortunately, at this work phase, I just might start borrowing my brother’s thermogenic fat burner. I haven’t had time to exercise, let alone walk during breaks! It’s horrible. I’ve already cut down on my rice, so I guess that’s one of the reasons why I’m not yet excessively plump.

As soon as I get that much coveted job title, the first in my priority will be my health.

Deleting scanner history

Written on Saturday, 2 of October, 2010 at 7:53 pm

Scanners are the most important equipment in the office. We pretty much use them in everything – website design, layout, presentation, fax, etc. However there is a security risk that users must be aware of: image caching. scanner software usually previews the whole page before letting you do the actual scan. This preview generates a file that is stored in a a hidden folder that can be easily viewed by others using the scanner.

I just learned about this yesterday when I scanned some personal school documents – Transcripts. After the preview, I scanned the transcripts and it generated jpeg files which I obviously deleted after copying. A few hours after that, I got an email from my colleague, praising me for my high grades! Surprised (embarrassed) I approached him and asked how on earth did he saw my transcripts. He simply answered: “it’s on the preview”. What happened was really not that big of a deal for me, however if that happened with more confidential information, I would probably be in quite a situation.

Not all scanner software are the same. But all of them probably have some kind of “clear cache” or “delete history” kind of functionality. Just be sure you click on these options after scanning. Believe me, it’s for your own benefit.
