Yoga and Colon Cleansing

Written on Monday, 27 of September, 2010 at 11:57 am

I was hanging out with some people over at the yoga studio yesterday. This is something I don’t usually do unless I have to since I’ve never really liked the overly spiritual or the overly health conscious – Yoga people happen to be both. I made an exception that day because there was a cute guy in the mix that I wanted to dig my nails into.

He mentioned he was on some kind of a cleansing program that he found on www.coloncleanserreview.net. Consequently, he was on some kind of lemonade diet for the next 2 weeks or so. How he found the energy to do 90 minutes of sweating bone-churning yoga was beyond me. Nevertheless, the mental discipline it took to endure all of that was something that is starting to seem appealing to me the more I think about it. After all, I have grown up with a silver spoon in my mouth since birth.

Written on Tuesday, 21 of September, 2010 at 9:09 pm

Many products claim to lose weight, such as fat burners. But in many cases, fat burners side effects are detrimental on health. Some supplements that contain ephedra, once used as a fat burner, was reported to cause mild to adverse side effects such as headache, restlessness, hypertension, nausea, seizures, sweating, heart attack and stroke.

Since most of fat burners are stimulants, they can cause addiction and overdose. Allergies, changes in mood, sleeping and digestion patterns are also common fat burner side effects. Most fat burners are manufactured without further studies, so side effects are known after a significant public consumption.

To prevent fat burners’ side effects, get all information about the product you will use. Check the studies related to the products’ contents, both benefits and risks. Consult your physician or nutritionist who is well-verse in understanding fat-burners, so it would be safe and effective for you to lose weight.

So don’t just take fat burners. Do your research!

Many companies market claim that their healthy diet pills are effective for weight loss. They are primarily made of nutrient and food-based substances, and mostly are labeled as natural. Yet, even they are well-researched, a wise consumer must be more aware of how to choose the right one.

healthy diet pills would be more effective if the person who takes it must consider the following:

Not all healthy diet pills can provide benefits. Ensure that their contents are scientifically proven to provide improvement, and not just some anecdotal proof or commercial advertisement.

On Diamond Knowledge

Written on Saturday, 18 of September, 2010 at 11:15 pm

My brother and I talked about diamonds earlier this morning as we were eating breakfast. I knew that one thing to determine if a diamond is fake is to submerge it in water. If it still shines, then it is real.

Apparently, that wasn’t the only way to determine it. My brother taught me about the existence of laboratory produced diamonds. To determine if they are laboratory produced or natural, check if bubbles exist. If they do, they’re genuine.

Wow, I didn’t really think I could actually learn something useful from daily conversations with my siblings! I want to know more about loose diamonds, though. I find diamonds brilliant, and knowing the difference between diamonds can be very useful at some point in your life.

Do you have any tips or tricks to share with everyone? Feel free to comment!

Age well, age beautifully!

Written on Wednesday, 15 of September, 2010 at 8:48 pm

In this lifetime, I’ve seen a lot of people age. But there are only a few who I’ve seen have aged beautifully.

I generally approach those people to compliment them on their wonderful and envy-worthy aging, and to get some tips on how to look like them. After all, I’m not getting any younger. Aging is inevitable. But then, instead of fighting against the inevitable, the best approach is to accept it and but make sure you still take care of whatever it is that isn’t beyond your control.

You know what their secret is?

Sunscreen and face moisturizers.

Come to think of it, people do take their skin for granted especially when they’re young. What the majority doesn’t know is that by the age 25 (even 21), signs of aging appears and if you do not moisturize and put sunscreen, you’ll start looking 40 even when you’re still in your 30’s. Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that our ozone layers are depleting, which means the sun’s rays are becoming more harmful.

So, if you want to age beautifully, the next time you go out, moisturize and protect yourself from the sun! Age well, age beautifully! ^_^

Exercise regularly – even jogging in place in 15-20 minutes every day can make a difference. Have regular and enough sleep. Think happy thoughts. NFL T shirts could be the best gift you give to the men of your life!

Written on Sunday, 12 of September, 2010 at 10:03 am

Wondering about what gifts to give this Christmas, especially to the special men in your life? Tired of giving the same genre of books that you give your dad? Or the video games that you always give your brother? Or of thinking what romantic gift you could give your hubby?

Why not NFL t shirts? ;)

You see your dad, brother and boyfriend huddle in front of the TV every Sunday afternoon for their one true love – NFL football. Giving them the NFL shirts might make them feel they’re wearing uniforms and playing in the field themselves!

Making your own NFL t shirts is one way to make the shirts bear some personal touch. Remember that while other people find “it’s the thought that counts” a cliché, it still works. :) You could sew the logos of your special guy’s favorite NFL teams. You could even match it with flaglets that bear the same logos.

If you really don’t have the time to make the shirts, you could always buy them from the nearest football apparel!

1-0 me vs. salesman

Written on Monday, 6 of September, 2010 at 10:28 am

I had a very funny experience at an electronics store earlier. I was shopping for a new LCD monitor when a mature woman approached me and mistook me for a salesman. No one could blame her because I was wearing the same navy blue shirt like the sales people in the store. Anyhow, she asked me for help on how to get a quality headset for her daughter. I gladly assisted her.

She was looking for a cordless headset but she does not know anything about wireless technologies. All she knows is that her 19 year old daughter wished for it. As we were browsing the store, the sales guy approached us, recommending some brands. He gave us several choices while telling us that those were the best there is. Among the choices were WiFi headsets and IR headsets. Since I know that these suggestions are not that good, I gave the woman another choice – a Bluetooth headset.

To my surprise, the salesman suddenly said “I know all about these stuff ma’am believe me”. Of course, I also knew what I was suggesting so I felt challenged to prove myself to the lady. So there it started, an hour long debate with a salesman. I eventually made him give up, and so he did. The woman took my suggestion. The salesman still got his commission of course, but I went home with my pride. That’s 1-0 Mr. salesman!

My sister

Written on Friday, 3 of September, 2010 at 11:48 pm

My sister started talking about networking, jibber jabber like 1U servers, schema diagrams and normalization.

Being the development communications graduate that I was, I mostly didn’t understand a thing she said. She seemed to be too stressed about her schoolwork lately, all I could do for her is listen to her endless rants about it. Thank God her schoolwork hasn’t actually made her go through something as extreme as a nervous breakdown yet.

I am pretty sure, however, that if I were in her given a chance to be in her shoes I would either go through a nervous breakdown or be crazier than Klaus Nomi.

You can’t blame me though, I’ve never been fond of technology. In fact, everything I have ever touched get bugged or completely destroyed. She has been fond of computers and gadgets since she was four, and we found potential.

Never give up on the things you love, those things can make or break you.
