When dogs become overweight

Written on Wednesday, 29 of July, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Don’t we just love feeding our pet dogs? They eat almost any food we throw at them and they never tell us to stop. In fact, they even ask for more. As I was browsing the net, I saw an FDA approval on a diet pill FOR DOGS! What the heck? It’s not the dog’s fault why it’s overweight, it’s the owner’s. The idea of diet pills for dogs is just so ridiculous. Since elementary all of us know that dogs are carnivores, so feeding them a high-carbo diet is the reason why they are fat.

Perhaps our closeness to our pets affected our treatment to them. We humans tend to share everything with our pets including our bed. We oftentimes see them as part of the family, hence we treat them like humans, forgetting that they are animals with different needs. It is okay for me to take a diet pill but I certainly won’t give my dog one. There’s just no point in suppressing a dog’s appetite and still continuing to feed it more calories.

Eat more, Lose more

Written on Wednesday, 29 of July, 2009 at 12:13 am

Eat more yet lose weight faster! Usually, diet requires eating less or even starving yourself just to lose fat. What most people didn’t know is that starving just stops weight gain but it does not help you lose it. Recent studies show that eating plenty of citrus fruits with the right combination of exercise is a very healthy and effective weight loss method. Try mixing a teaspoon of oil with a lemon juice and see how the oil is dissolved. Not only does Vitamin C help in burning fat, it also boosts your immune system making you more energetic than before.

New fat burners and diet pills are now including Vitamin C in their ingredients because of this. There are a lot of good brands today but physicians still insist on getting a medical approval first for health safety reasons.

Should I get a towing service?

Written on Wednesday, 22 of July, 2009 at 10:19 pm

On our way to the posh hotel for the five-year celebration of our company, my colleagues and I got stuck in traffic for almost an hour! It turns out that a huge truck broke down right in the middle of the intersection and the towing service is taking a long time to get to it.

Incidents like this makes me want to subscribe to towing services such as the rv towing, especially with these benefits:

* 24 hour customer service dispatch
* No auto towing mileage restrictions or out-of-pocket expenses
* With spouse & children protection. i.e. Emergency road service membership includes services for your spouse and children.
* Emergency fuel and fluid service. i.e. If you run out of fuel, they will provide you with enough fuel to get you to the nearest service station.
* Lost key/Lock out service. What’s great about this is you can call their toll-free number to have a pre-paid locksmith dispatched to wherever you are.

Then again, I don’t drive much. So I guess I’ll just postpone that for now.

Going back to the company party, we were only around 30 minutes late, just in time for the buffet, my favorite part. Hehehe.

Stumped in Alaska

Written on Tuesday, 21 of July, 2009 at 8:16 am

It was my college roommate’s baby’s baptism last Sunday. The venue was at her hometown in Alaska. Although it was waaaaaaaaay far than I’m willing to travel (last time I’ve been there was five years ago), I couldn’t say no since I was invited to be one of the god mothers.

At the airport, I was momentarily stumped at the site of my college friend – she didn’t look like she just gave birth two months ago. Her figure’s to die for! She looked like she could pass as an endorser of clinicallix or some other weight loss product. Imagine having a gorgeous figure after being pregnantly-plump!

My friend laughed at my surprised expression and said she’s been exercising and doing Bikram Yoga to get that figure right after she gave birth. Hmmmm… I should really save up more and enroll in the Bikram Yoga studio near my office.

Ruthie’s piano recital

Written on Sunday, 12 of July, 2009 at 8:32 pm

Last Sunday I escorted Ruth, my niece, to her piano recital. She and other classmates played their masterpieces in the stage in front of their very proud parents. Unfortunately, my sister is working on a project abroad so she missed the opportunity to see her daughter play.

Tears of joy rushed through my eyes when it was Ruth’s turn to play. Memories of her first days of playing the piano passed through my mind. It’s funny how an extended version of “Mary had a little lamb” can make one cry. I remembered her fourth birthday when she told me “I want to play piano!” after watching me play her birthday song. Now after two years, she is playing by her own.

Of course I took the whole show in video. I’ll be uploading it later in youtube so that my sister could view it. Keep up the good work Ruthie!

counter strike days all over again

Written on Thursday, 9 of July, 2009 at 9:45 am

Being sick and forced to just stay at home to recuperate, I was extremely bored last week. Consequently, I decided to go through the accumulated papers in our tv stands both in the living room and recreation room. I ended up sorting them into three piles: still useful, for recycling, and for keeps.

What struck me was finding the score sheet of our office counter strike tournaments last 2007. I forgot I actually brought it home back then to brag to my siblings that I graduated from camping in counter strike to actually having kills in my statistics! Seeing that sheet made me long for counter strike tournaments again…

I was surprised when I got back to the office and saw an entire row of 14 workstations all setup for a counter strike tournament! Apparently, with the termination of some of our colleagues due to clients’ undergoing recession, our CEO decided to make use of several of those “now free” workstations to revive our counter strike days. Am I lucky or am I lucky?!

I ended up staying late at night with my colleagues, playing against another account/client team. As usual, I’m the only girl who participated in the counter strike tournament. Tsk tsk tsk. If they only know what they were missing… Oh well, better for me, I get to have more chance to play since we sometimes take turns for each round. 0:p

On filling up at the right places

Written on Wednesday, 8 of July, 2009 at 3:45 am

It’s funny how the rest of the world are looking for diet pills that work while I on the other hand is doing my best to gain weight. Well, not really gain weight, but to gain my ideal body weight in a way that I look healthy and glowing instead of stressed and malnourished.

I’m seriously considering taking one of those vitamins that helps you crave more for food. Then again, the best way to gain your weight is still to do proper exercise regularly. This is because regular physical activity can help increase your appetite. *sigh* I just wish my swimming lesson will push through soon so I can start filling up at the right places 0;)

Reminiscing..

Written on Monday, 6 of July, 2009 at 2:53 am

As my friend Nica and I were talking earlier today, reminiscing about things, I couldn’t help but wonder how she lost so much weight. She was teased by other girls on our class when we were young because she was what you call horizontally challenged. I felt bad for her when I was young so I approached her and talked to her and we became friends.

We haven’t seen each other for about two years now since we graduated and I invited her to drink coffee since I missed her so. I ended up asking what was on my mind: How did you lose so much weight?

She told me that she read Decaslim reviews and heard many good things about it so she decided to try it, it worked, and well, my story ends here.

Glowing for the wedding

Written on Saturday, 4 of July, 2009 at 10:56 pm

I have been diagnosed with URTI last Tuesday and have been on sick leave for the entire week to recover. Thank God it’s nothing serious like mesothelioma or even TB *shiver*. Other than my cough, I’m pretty much good to go for work on Monday.

The only problem is, I’ve grown thin. It would’ve been great if it’s sexy-thin, but it looks malnourished-thin. You see, it’s my friend JC’s wedding on July 11 and I so wanted to look great for that day since it’s also sort of a mini-reunion of my close friends in Kendo.

Oh well, I just have to do my best for the next five days to glow, if not gain weight as well. Hopefully, by Saturday, I’ll look radiant even though I’m thin.

New PSP concept phone

Written on Friday, 3 of July, 2009 at 7:02 pm

PSP fans will certainly love the latest news from Sony. It still is not officially in production, but research is already being made if a PSP phone will be feasible in the market. Hmm… Imagine the coolest handheld console with the functions of cellular phones. Great huh.

Months from now, the newest version of the PSP (PSP-4000) will be released and a large number of fans are already anticipating. It was a complete overhaul of the PSP slim. New features include a slide up controller pad, smaller but brighter LCD, and a very slim form factor. They also removed the UMD drive. This just means that the PSP games will just be downloadable from the net. Oh well… better for the torrent pirates I guess.
