Tired of the usual look of your house? Does it look more like a warehouse than a cozy home? Well, I think it’s time for you to do a home make-over! Actually, this was in line with the new 40-inch LCD TV that my dad bought. Because it’s so elegant to look at, we thought the house needed to catch up. This is where my mom kicks in. She proposed a house make-over starting with each room.
My bedroom is first in the list; it didn’t need much arranging. All it needed was a little adjustment in the door hinge. My sister’s room in the other hand needs an overhaul. The rugs should be cleaned or probably replaced. The walls also need repainting because it looks kinda dull. All materials needed were already listed and ready to be purchased. If all turns out well, we’ll invite some friends over for a party. I just hope we finish the whole make-over before the summer ends. Hehe.

The shift to digital TV forced dad to just buy a new LCD TV instead of the hundred dollar TV box. Well, he blames the government for forcing him to buy an LCD but actually he was the one excited to get one. Dad got a Blu-ray player and even upgraded the sofa to home theater furniture. Hehe.
I’m not the tech-y type, but I was quite impressed with the quality of digital TV. The picture was so clear and the sound was not distorted. Since we live near the airport, the old channels get easily distorted. I’m so glad that the digital channels are not affected by passing planes. Now I can watch my favourite movies and cartoons without having to miss any scenes. I’ve never been this happy with a TV before!

My mom’s birthday is fast approaching – April 13. My mom and dad was out of town today so I gathered my siblings for a birthday present meeting.
After several minutes of funny and exasperating squabbles, we agreed on getting her much coveted Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Florale Quartz. It’s an 18K yellow gold on bracelet. Quite expensive actually. But then again, birthdays are just once a year, so it HAS to be special – something she really likes and is useful.
I already placed the order online. Hopefully, it will arrive on time as the shop promised – two weeks from now.

While having breakfast, something unusual happened – her dining chair slowly gave in and broke down. The breaking of her chair was really at a snail’s pace. It was like you’re watching a movie in slow motion mode. Very unreal.
Manel, our house helper, and I were momentarily stunned immobile. We didn’t know if we’ll make it in time to grab her. My mom DID seem in control of her falling down pace.
Anyhow, my mom managed to fall gracefully off her chair and she wasn’t hurt. It turns out that one of the chair’s metal legs is the culprit. After laughing off the incident (my mom’s expression was really funny), we fixed the leg with a mig welder (Trivia: MIG stands for metal inert gas), then inspected the rest of our dining chairs to make sure that incident won’t happen again. *whew!*

There was a clearance sale yesterday in my favorite electronic and gadgets shop. Being a trigger-happy photographer, I have been having problems with my memory space in my DSLR. So, upon hearing the word “sale” and having just received my salary, I immediately logged out of work and went to the store as soon as 5:30 p.m. struck. Hehehe.
Did I mention how much I love the “clearance” in a “clearance sale”? The prices can go really low. I was able to purchase SanDisk 16GB Extreme III compact flash card for only $84.95! Imagine that! The bargain princess struck gold again! ^^;
