on military and fashion

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 28 of July, 2007 at 6:02 am

Having lived in two different military camps for more than 20 years, I must admit that I used to turn my nose down on people, civilians in particular, who are going for the “military look” by accessorizing themselves with camouflage shirts or cargo pants, and the like. They tend to look like posers.

Vintage Military Shoulder Bag & Uni-Strap Tote BagAfter seeing some vintage looking military shoulder bags and really classic camouflage clothing, I decided to reverse my opinion. With the right design and/or cut, and tasteful mix and match, military stuff can actually look fashionable.

handle credit cards with care

Writing by wisteria on Thursday, 26 of July, 2007 at 7:34 pm

According to Lao Tzu, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Relatedly, the beginning is the most important part of the work. These two statements will be a good advice especially if you are considering applying for a credit card.

I still recall a friend who was bragging to us that he was able to have five credit cards at one time with no annual fee for the first year. At first glance, it seems that he had been so lucky for possessing a number of credit cards. Unknown to him, we discovered that he uses these cards to pay the balance of his other cards. And after a year, when the annual fee for these five credit cards have to be settled, he found himself broke and in trouble with the credit card institutions. My friend’s experience taught me a big lesson regarding credit cards. Thus, I told myself I should only apply for one credit card, and the most is two.

Before getting a new credit card or an additional credit card, do visit www.goldstarcredit.net. Through this website, I learned so many things about the credit card. If only I encountered this website before my first credit card application, I could have chosen a better one.

Moreover, Goldstar Credit enlightened me on matters concerning personal finance and credit issues. After going through their website, I can say now that I know how to handle my own credit card/s.

A word of advice for those who already have credit cards, “Handle it with Care!”

Maui’s August Festival

Writing by wisteria on Wednesday, 25 of July, 2007 at 8:39 pm

The second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands is the island of Maui. With the Festival Month of Maui coming up this August, I suggest you start checking out Maui vacation rentals and choose from luxury ocean front homes or island resorts.

The Festival begins on August 5 with the 5th Annual Maui Sugar Plantation Festival. This is a celebration of sugar plantation heritage which highlights one of Maui’s most significant cultural heritages. This is followed by the 18th annual edition of the Maui Onion Festival which features celebrity chef demonstrations and of course, the Maui onion recipe contest. The August Festival ends with the Aloha Festivals – Hawaii’s most important cultural events which is intended to preserve the unique island traditions by a celebration of Hawaii’s music, dance and history.

Looks like an enchanting, activity-filled August getaway? Definitely! So start booking in the “valley Isle”!

on IT services

Writing by wisteria on Monday, 23 of July, 2007 at 7:39 pm

With the advancements of Computer Technology in NJ, the necessity for an equally advanced Information Technology (IT) NJ and Computer Consulting NJ arises.

Although there is a lot of IT consulting firms sprouting, it is important that you do in-depth research first about the firm before availing of their services. That is, you ought to make sure that the firm is established and has developed and deployed rock solid systems to various types of companies. Also, it is important to browse the net or ask around for reviews about your prospect firm especially if you’re just getting started with your business.

on bets and wagers

Writing by wisteria on Saturday, 21 of July, 2007 at 4:22 am

I love bets. I love to wager with about almost anything for any or no reason at all.

In fact, I’m renowned among my friends and colleagues to be the gambling queen. Only, my bets are limited to very small amounts of money or are mostly in the form of favors or consequences (e.g. I’ll pay for dinner, I’ll wash the dishes, I’ll pay 5 bucks, etc.).

Anyhow, when I find the time and money, I intend to try out my stakes at Mac Poker. It offers Online Casino Bonuses and Poker Bonuses. Who knows, I just might be able to bring home a bag of “chips”.

a week in germany

Writing by wisteria on Friday, 20 of July, 2007 at 10:39 pm

For my mom, being chosen to be a part of our country’s delegation to attend an international conference is like winning a third prize lottery. And attending the said conference with my dad is like winning the second prize. But attending an international conference held in Germany is definitely like bagging the first prize. That was exactly how my parents felt when they spent a week in Germany.

It was an all-expense paid trip by my mom’s organization - transportation (from airplane, train, to bus fares), hotels and food. And it really involved a big amount of money. So much in fact that the money they spent there could even be considered a wealth for a man on the street.

Having recently learned the wonders of the internet, my mom decided to check out some travel websites. She came across the Cheap Hotels in Berlin, Cheap Frankfurt Hotels, and Cheap Hamburg Hotels. She was devastated. If she had only known that there are cheap hotels in Germany, she could have maximized their stay there and visited the historic places which she only came across in books.

Though the odds of my mom’s winning in the lottery are doubtful, should she be given any opportunity to go back and visit Germany with her entire family, she would definitely avail of those cheap hotels.

virtual tarot trick

Writing by wisteria on Friday, 20 of July, 2007 at 4:17 am

Bored, I decided to try out AskJud.com. It is a trick way better than “ask peter” which disguises as an online “virtual tarot”. I saw it last week but was too swamped with work to try it out.

Amazed with it, I decided to show it to my friends (without letting them know about the trick of course) and they had an eerie-fun time typing in their questions and getting their answers. They went on it for several minutes before I finally told them the trick. Hehehe. You should try it sometime.

the undisputed party champion of the world

Writing by wisteria on Friday, 20 of July, 2007 at 3:25 am

Hailed as “the undisputed party champion of the world”, Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, belonging to Spain.

This island is a very popular tourist destination. Its popularity is mostly credited to its legendary rollicking nightlife, which already starts in the afternoon, at the beaches and in the center of town, and continues until dawn in the numerous bars and clubs. One of the best ways to end a night like that is a long nap in one of the Cheap Hotels in Ibiza, followed by a relaxing sunbathing on the beach.

With thousands of people flooding in for the big summer club nights, I suggest you have a head start from the other tourists by booking early in San Antonio Hotels and San Jose Ibiza Hotels.

search to save

Writing by wisteria on Friday, 20 of July, 2007 at 2:30 am

For those planning to buy any Reebok, Nike, Esprit, or Converse products…

HALT!

Don’t buy until you have availed of discounts and coupons online.

Yep. You can actually get online shopping coupons for popular brands like Reebok and Nike, and avail of online promos like Converse deals. Oh, and that’s not all. Websites like couponchief.com actually covers around 1,000 stores including Best Buy, Amazon, Overstock.com, Home Depot, and Dell.

So before buying anything, search the net first for discounts and coupons. Why spend more when you can get it for less?
